Volunteer
- Share your skills and up-to-date medical knowledge with your colleagues in Africa during a short-term
Continuing Medical Education (CME) trip or through a long-term teaching commitment.
DOCS' CME trips are scheduled in the spring and fall each year and last for about 2 weeks. We handle all
arrangements (air travel, visas, food, housing, ground transportation, arrangement of the meetings). During
these trips, the CME volunteer team travels to several locations in Africa, sometimes several countries.
In addition to the CME trips, DOCS also facilitates trips to Continuing Medical Education learning sites during
which volunteers stay for several weeks to several months to teach and train.
The cost to participate in a volunteer trip depends on several factors, including airfare, length of stay, and whether
the host site provides lodging and/or food. Contributions for the faculty trips are tax-deductible.
